It’s been ten years since I had the dream that night and yet it still burns vividly in my mind: the outline of the mountain rose against the clear sky with a straight line of bushes at the foot of it.
I stood captivated, but not only by the mountain. As I looked towards the mountain I noticed people slowly walking toward me from all directions. Each small group wore the traditional dress and garments of their particular tribe and country from Africa. Up to at least twenty or thirty small groups gathered at the foot of the mountain. Slowly they came and calmly they sat down, waiting. Instinctively I knew they were waiting for me.
My name is Peter Lambshead. I am a professional glassblower and musician. I am passionate about nutrition, health and the wellbeing of people, especially those living in poverty. The impact of this dream prompted me to search as I knew the mountain was significant in its meaning and specific in its location.
For nearly six years my wife and I searched for this mountain.
By Divine chance we were invited to come to Clarens in South Africa as caretakers of a farm. We did not need a second invitation as we were drawn to the beauty of the quaint little town with its rolling views of splendour.
The morning after we arrived at the farm I walked outside on to the lawn and looked up to my left and stared at the stony ridge outline of the mountain before me and the straight line of bushes at its foot. I had never been here before and yet I knew this landscape which had been imprinted in my mind through the dream years before.
We had arrived and yet the journey to help, nourish and educate the people I had seen waiting for me at the foot of the mountain had only just begun.
